My friend Andy Wibbels once said that if you get the same question more than three times,  you should think about creating a product that answers the need.

My version is if I have the same conversation with more than two coaching clients, I must write a blog post.

Which is what happened in the last two days, as I discussed sales and marketing strategies with three different clients.

This 10-minute video explains some ways you can incorporate old-school sales techniques into modern marketing practices. It is great that many clients can find you through Google, but sometimes it is really effective for you to go to them.

  1. Good post and good video Pam!

“Relationship Marketing” is a nice term that I can’t believe I hadn’t heard before.

All of my business for Web Design and Video Production in the last 10 years has ALL been from Word of Mouth. From who I am and how people feel with me. It takes more work sometimes – but it leads to longer (working) relationships too I think.

  2. Hi Pam,

This is great, practical and tactical advice. I come from a background of direct, old-school B2B sales… I built my entire corporate consultancy by schmoozing clients with ZERO technology (beyond a few phone calls and emails).

I also believe that even today, there are a lot of big decision makers (with itchy problems and deep pockets) who still prefer to do things face-to-face. The internet is great… but some things never change.

    Great video – thanks!

  3. Hi Pam.

More than anything, what strikes me is how you model being steady and clear-headed.

You create a space with this video where I feel like I can think about my marketing/sales without drama.

    Nice!
