Book tour update (new cities added!) and happy long weekend!

So I was all set to write a long post today, then I realized that 85% of the working population in the U.S. were scooting out of their cubicles early to go have a last fling in the sand or tiptoe through the tulips for Labor Day.

Which led me to want to do the same.

So let me just say that after an amazing summer touring the Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Washington D.C., Charlotte and Atlanta, I will be a few more places:

New York next week, on September 12! And with Jonathan Fields no less! Details here.

Dallas on September 25. The brilliant Shama Kabani will be there, so don’t miss us! Details here.

London on October 12. Boy has it been a long time since I have been to Europe! I cannot wait to see longtime internet friends and many live, in person ones. Details here.

I will be cooling down on travel, but am considering the following cities for workshops in November and December to round out the year:

Detroit
Los Angeles
Philadelphia

What am I missing? Or where should I go in the Spring?

Wishing all of you a sweet, lazy, enjoyable end to your summer.

I will write a nice, long juicy post on Tuesday. It is long overdue!

And in the spirit of Labor Day, here is my love letter to work.

Please come to Baltimore, MD! I missed your stop in DC because of vacation, and I’m sure another one in this area wouldn’t hurt. We DC folks are known for our summer absences ;o)

Why don’t you come down to Tampa, Florida in the spring? Great weather in March or April – you actually can breathe and not sweat!

Come to Nashville, TN! There’s more here than just country music and churches, I swear. :-) I can take you to a place that makes the most mouth-watering goat cheese salad…

Detroit? Did you really write Detroit? [goes back to re-read blog]

You did! Yes, please! There is a wonderful and vibrant social media community with a bunch of entrepreneurs in Detroit.

In the meantime, I’ll get back to working my new business this weekend.

Yes Todd, I did say Detroit! And if we can swing it schedule-wise, I will bring Chris Guillebeau (www.chrisguillebeau.com) with me, for some true non-conformist ideas. :)

See you there!

Ah Labour Day weekend. I’ve also started three weeks vacation and have just started your book, Pam. I figured I would time reading it when I have less work distractions and can do some reflectin’. Look forward to your upcoming posts.

Would love to see you in Philly! I’m in Wilmington, Delaware and Philly’s the nearest big city for me. I’m loving your classes on the MBI June class. Thanks! Helen

beautiful article. I’ve read some of Gibran but have obviously missed this one, up until now. Thanks for the rejuvenation of spirit you provided.

My hope is that you come back to Austin in the spring. You should contact BookPeople, an independent bookstore that has great writers every week. The clientele would be a perfect fit for you.

Don’t forget about Sacramento! We are an up-and-coming city and we would love to host you at The Urban Hive, a coworking community in the heart of midtown. There’s a good number of cubical expats hanging about!
